The ApneaRX and SnoreRX classify as MADs (mandibular advancement devices).
My experience with each of these devices is pretty similar to most users: both MAD devices perform an outstanding job.
The SnoreRX has a notable advantage over the ApneaRX due to its sleeker design, more customizable fit, and its lower cost.
Trying The ApneaRX
I went to see my dentist to obtain my ApneaRX prescription. Finally, after over a week of patiently waiting, the ApneaRX arrived in the mail.
After the boil and bite method, the device fits somewhat uncomfortably in my mouth. The first night, I could barely fall asleep because of the pressure on my mouth. I kept waking up at night to try minor adjustments on the device but could not get the increments correct. However, my son stated that he did not hear any snoring originating from our bedroom.
Three days later, the soreness was much less intense, and after five days, the pain was gone.
Cleaning the device was a little more annoying than expected as I had to get into all of the holes and crevices with a toothbrush, plus regularly use a denture tablet.
Trying The SnoreRX
Ordering two provides a notable discount. The $99 cost drops to $77 each, plus the $10 of shipping cost.
The fitting alternatives were slightly overwhelming. My wife and I did the boil and bite fitting procedure, but then spent some time attempting to get the perfect fit by utilizing the calibrator function as well.
My mouth was a bit sore after the first night’s use, but my wife reported she felt fine. Both of us had a good night rest.
The most significant problem I had with the SnoreRX was the cleaning process. The process took longer than expected. All the cracks and crannies required more consideration than just dropping it in a glass of warm water and adding a cleansing tablet.
The second night I modified my SnoreRX slightly using the calibrators. It made a huge distinction as the next day my mouth was way less sore.
My wife and I both admit that the SnoreRX, despite its somewhat bulky shape, is very pleasant to wear.
My Recommendation
Both anti snoring devices are convenient to use and function as intended. However, SnoreRX comes out ahead for many reasons. The customizable design of the SnoreRX determined that it was less uncomfortable and sore when compared to the pure boil and bite of the ApneaRX. The SnoreRX is a much more cost-effective and comfortable option, so it is a simple choice to make between the two of them.
However, when matched to the ApneaRX, the SnoreRX is a lot more difficult to clean with a complete disassembly and denture tablets. Use a SnoreRX coupon code if purchasing.
If you require treating Sleep Apnea, talk to your dentist about either the ApneaRX or SnoreRX.
